I’ve always enjoyed the transition from summer’s lighter colors to the rich hues associated with fall. The palette in the AERIN Autumn collection was inspired by Paris, from the sophistication of the Right Bank with warm browns and greens found in nature, as well as brass and flecked gold in artisanal ceramics, to the bohemian Left Bank’s bronze, gray, and black influenced by the streets and boulevards. I think Douglas Friedman, who shot the AERIN fall campaign, caught the feel of the collection perfectly. The backdrop was the Carlton Hobbs’ antiques gallery in a beautiful townhouse on East 93rd Street. I particularly loved the black pullover and long purple and black skirt from ERDEM Autumn/Winter 2015 that I wore for one of the shots. The skirt reminded me of purple cosmos flowers—we included a large bunch of them arranged in a Textured Gold Cachepot to emphasize the season’s opulent tones. Welcome to fall!
