I’ve always admired Carine Roitfeld for her distinctive style. Her absolute confidence is one of the hallmarks of a true tastemaker and fashion icon, so I wasn’t surprised when I heard she was designing a collection for Uniqlo (available from October 29). Roitfeld describes her look as “bourgeoise with a little rock’n’roll twist.” I love the leopard-print coat from the Uniqlo collection. It has a masculine cut to the shoulders and the length is just above the knee “so that a little bit of skirt shows.” It’s exactly the kind of detail that makes a piece special. “I started from the idea of clothes that I would want to wear myself, and developed this into clothes that anyone would want to wear,” Roitfeld said of the process. The collection includes some amazing coats and cashmere, just in time for the dropping temperatures.
