I love small hotels that have the feel of a private, elegant residence. One such property is La Réserve Paris, a new 40-room hotel in a 19th century Haussmann-style mansion around a leafy inner courtyard. The former residence of designer Pierre Cardin, it opened early this year following a three-year renovation, and caused a lot of buzz during Paris Fashion Week. Perfectly placed on a quiet, tree-lined street in the eighth arrondissement, the hotel has views to the Eiffel Tower and is steps from the Champs-Elysées. Elements of the stunning interiors remind me of the AERIN fall Home collection, which was also inspired by Paris, such as the Malachite and Textured Gold ranges. Created by Parisian designer Jacques Garcia, the décor combines antiques, rich velvets, patterned damasks, marble fireplaces, and ornate mirrors to create a beautiful yet comfortable atmosphere.
