Before the busy week begins I can’t think of a better way to wrap up a weekend with family than a sugary sweet Sunday brunch. Here’s what I’ve got in store for this weekend:
SALAD To start, this vibrant salad is packed with antioxidants and is easy to make. Use a few handfuls of spinach and arugula as the base, then simply toss in some pomegranate seeds, crumbled goat cheese and chopped walnuts (all of which you can get conveniently pre-packaged), then add a sliced pear and combine with pomegranate vinaigrette.
CREPES I keep things simple by ordering take -out crepes from Ze-Café, a modern French restaurant in a former carriage house on East 52nd Street. They do a delicious trio of Nutella, apple with sugar and cinnamon, and strawberry with Crème Chantilly. The owners, husband-and-wife team Zezé and Peggy O'Dea also run the award-winning Zezé Flowers just around the corner on First Avenue—it’s my go-to place for every floral arrangement.
ON THE SIDE Fresh fruit makes a delicious accompaniment to sweet crepes. I like to serve a cup of mixed berries or pieces of chopped cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto along with freshly baked croissants and Neiman Marcus-style strawberry butter.
Effortless, tasty, and fun: the perfect way to celebrate Sunday at home with my loved ones.
