I believe that vibrant colors can improve your mood and lift your spirits, so I’m a fan of Pantone’s color of 2014, Radiant Orchid, a beautiful hue of fuchsia with purple and pink undertones. The color specialists at Pantone examine everything from fashion week trends and art exhibitions to new movie releases and even travel destinations before announcing their shade of the year, and it’s fun to watch its influence spread as the months go by.
I’m already looking at how to incorporate it into my spring and summer look; the AERIN Purple Choker Necklace and Purple Drop Earrings both feature Radiant Orchid crystals set alongside sparkling pinks and violets reminiscent of spring and summer flowers, which also inspired two of my fragrances for the fast approaching warmer days and nights, AERIN Lilac Path and Evening Rose. It’s a color that suits many skin tones and it could, for example, be used to create a dramatic eye for an evening out (try the lilac shade from my Kaleidolight Palette). It also pairs well with rosy hues such as the Geranium AERIN Rose Balm Lipstick. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says: “Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health.” If that’s the case, I can’t think of a better shade to take us through the year.
