The next time I’m in Dallas I’m planning so see Shaken, Stirred, Styled: The Art of the Cocktail, a new exhibition at The Dallas Museum of Art. The show traces the history of cocktails to the present day and features a range of high-design barware—from 19th-century punch bowls and Prohibition-era cocktail shakers to turn-of-the-century decanters. Highlights include a silver Skyscraper Cocktail Shaker and a beautiful Cowan Pottery Studio ceramic “jazz bowl,” both dating back to the early 1930s. The focus is on preparation and presentation and I’m sure it’ll be the source of inspiration for the AERIN Barware Collection. From serving trays and coasters to elegant crystal tumblers, there are so many classic ways to elevate cocktail hour.
