Winter Beauty

The cold weather and dry indoor air can wreak havoc on skin. To counter the season’s harsh effects, I rely on a few effortless beauty tricks along with an arsenal of amazing products.  Here is my winter beauty guide to get you through the colder months looking beautiful:

Start by saying goodbye to dead skin with a great exfoliator. Origin’s Modern Friction reveals glowing, renewed skin without redness or irritation.

For a quick and easy way to immediately plump up and hydrate your skin make your own intense hydrating mask. Simply take your favorite moisturizer and rub an extra thick layer onto your face and neck. Leave on for about 5 minutes and then tissue off the excess.

To cure a case of dry winter feet, try putting on your favorite cream and then sleeping with your socks on overnight. It’s totally unglamorous, but it works beautifully.

I’m a bit obsessed with scent and the vibrant fragrance of Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream is a favorite during the winter months.

Fragrance, just like makeup, should be updated with the seasons. The winter is the ideal time to try a spicier scent like Private Collection Amber Ylang Ylang which features an alluring combination of Amber, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood and Vanilla.

Bath oil has the dual benefit of moisturizing and adding fragrance. I love the wintery scent of Pomegranate Noir bath oil by Jo Malone, it combines patchouli and frankincense with pomegranate and plum.

I usually go with paler hues on nails in the summer, but in the winter I like to wear colors that are a little richer. Mink Brulee by Tom Ford is a nude shade with beautiful depth.

Finally, I do have to mention my own AERIN Rose Lip Conditioner and Multi Color for Lips and Cheeks.  The Lip Conditioner offers a touch of color in a pretty nude shade and lots of intensive nourishing conditioners to keep lips soft regardless of the weather.  And, the Multi Color for Lips and Cheeks adds the perfect touch of color on a winter day.
